Wool, Fleece or Pul Cover

Wool

Natural wool material is absolutely amazing. Wool can absorb liquid  up to 30% of its own weight before it will start leaking through, so it is an absolute great diaper cover cum soaker. Some wool pants have double layers which would give added protection for babies who are heavy wetter. Wool is extremely breathable and how do we know that? Just pull the frabic and you can see through the wool from the holes on it. Using a breathable diaper cover keeps the temperature lower inside the diaper, which is more comfortable for the child and reduces diaper rash issues. (more…)

Your baby’s feet

The following comments and observations are attributed to…
Dr. Lisa C. Moore
Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine

“During foot development, it is important for bones, muscles, blood vessels and nerves to have room to grow without restriction.

“As the beginning walker stands up and takes the first tentative steps, the muscles of the feet grip the floor and the toes separate to help the child have better balance and control. If feet are confined within a rigid shoe, the toes cannot operate in this way, nor can the muscles of the foot and ankle develop the strength necessary to hold her upright. (more…)

Gently massage water/soap solution through the cover. Empty the soapy water then refill with fresh warm water and gently massage /rinse the cover. Gently squeeze out the water without twisting (wringing) the cover and roll it up in towel. Apply some pressure to squeeze the excess water out and then lay flat to dry or hang to dry. (more…)

    Basic Care of Cloth Diapers

Posted on Friday, December 25, 2009 in Cloth Diaper

All diapers and inserts/soakers will reach its full potential of absorbency after at least 8 washes.

    Never

    • Never use nappy cream as it will leave a greasy residue on the fleece which is difficult to remove. This will decrease the absorbency of diaper causing leakage. It also coats your diaper with a layer of oil which allows detergent build up to happen. (more…)
