Tiny Bubbles put to the test!

Posted on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in Baby Basics, Cloth Diaper, Updates

Alright guys, I have tested my own Might Environmental Detergent on my most prone to have build up diapers with my own normal routine wash for diapers and it can last for about 3 weeks before the build up gets bad and I have to strip them with the dish detergent again. For instructions on my own version of wash routine and stripping, pls click here.

So I will be testing Tiny Bubbles next! I will update as soon as Tiny Bubbles show signs of a need to strip. The only thing I am concerned about is, Tiny Bubbles is a bit expensive and may not be clean enough to wash adult clothes.

Some mothers are concerned that if you use a detergent that is also good for Adults (detergent A), will cause build up to come a bit sooner than those detergent (detergent B) for only babies because lesser oil is used. And even if Detergent A is a whole lot cheaper than Detergent B, it will cost a lot since stripping requires a lot of washes and the use of dish detergent, hence you spend a lot on water and energy. I know adult detergent can be very cheap but they are not environmental friendly and they  will contaminate your washing machine with their residue, which is full of fabric softeners, enzymes, bad oil, blah blah which in turn will ruin your diapers when you put your kid’s laundry in for wash. So even if you do not wash their clothes together, your kid will end up having mild eczema or bad rash (for extreme cases) and your diapers will have detergent build up very easily. Adult detergent has a lot of oil content and oil are usually the culprit for detergent build up.

So when you compare the benefits and advantages of using a detergent safe for baby and clean enough for adults, benefit far outweighs the disadvantages. Best is to find a detergent which is environmental friendly, coz usually they are very pure and will be good even for kids and diapers. Having said all these, Tiny Bubbles is still a very good detergent as I have used it in the past before and it cleanses very well and cured my son’s skin rash! If you have the extra doe, and doesn’t mind the trouble of having separate detergent for adult, then Tiny Bubbles might just be the solution.

So stay tuned for my updates!

Do you have some suggestions for me? I would love to hear them.
