Baby Shampoo Hitting our Shelves Soon

Posted on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in Baby Basics, Updates

There is a label from Australia call Arthur Lawrence. He created a range of natural skin care for adults many years ago and shared it only with his friends and families. I have been using it for many years and needless to say, I have lovely skin. :) So I found out that he has a range made for babies as well. So I jumped at the opportunity to try it on my kids as I know his products are made with no chemicals which can be harmful for the human body this includes our precious baby.

I posted an article before this about the dangers in chemicals found in baby products. Baby requires very little care for their skin as their skin is very pure. The more stuff you put on them, the faster you are destroying it. Please read the article here. (more…)

Cloth Pad Care

Posted on Saturday, December 26, 2009 in Cloth Pad

Its really easy to care for cloth pads. Buy a medium size pail preferably with a lid or you can make your own lid with anything big enough to cover the pail.

Soaking Method
1. Fill your pail with cold water and you can start soaking your used pads in there.
2. Change the water whenever you can or at least once a day to avoid bacteria growth. Always cover your pail with a lid and this helps to prevent bacteria growth. I change the water 2-3 times a day. (more…)

Caring for your wool covers

Hand wash in a sink full of warm water (not too hot, it will shrink your wool) with 1 tablespoon of your favorite wool wash (amounts vary by brand, read your wool wash directions carefully). Gently massage water/soap solution through the cover. Empty the soapy water then refill with fresh warm water and gently massage /rinse the cover. Gently squeeze out the water without twisting (wringing) the cover and roll it up in towel. Apply some pressure to squeeze the excess water out and then lay flat to dry or hang to dry. (more…)
