More Woolies Woolies Woolies!!

The new batch of Wool Longies is arriving in the next 2 weeks! They are hand made by recycled wool and as usual, extremely soft for your baby. I chose these which has more designs for boy unlike the Lucky Penny Pants that I have. I know some of you were asking. These are also more affordable since they are not embellished. Woolen Diaper Covers – Jeannette Almstrøm

When I gave birth to my second child twenty years ago, I was given a present that struck me as quite odd. I had one year earlier moved from Sweden to Denmark, and, as a nurse at that time, had no knowledge of anything other than disposable diapers. We were all so engrossed in the “use-and-throw-away” mentality.

The gift I received was a woolen panty, knitted by my grandmotherly neighbor, for my baby. (more…)

Wool, Fleece or Pul Cover

Natural wool material is absolutely amazing. Wool can absorb liquid  up to 30% of its own weight before it will start leaking through, so it is an absolute great diaper cover cum soaker. Some wool pants have double layers which would give added protection for babies who are heavy wetter. Wool is extremely breathable and how do we know that? Just pull the frabic and you can see through the wool from the holes on it. Using a breathable diaper cover keeps the temperature lower inside the diaper, which is more comfortable for the child and reduces diaper rash issues. (more…)

Caring for your wool covers

Hand wash in a sink full of warm water (not too hot, it will shrink your wool) with 1 tablespoon of your favorite wool wash (amounts vary by brand, read your wool wash directions carefully). Gently massage water/soap solution through the cover. Empty the soapy water then refill with fresh warm water and gently massage /rinse the cover. Gently squeeze out the water without twisting (wringing) the cover and roll it up in towel. Apply some pressure to squeeze the excess water out and then lay flat to dry or hang to dry. (more…)

One Sized vs Sized Diapers

Sized diapers can come in either Sizes XS (premature babies), S (New Borns), M, L and XL

Cons: They fit babies better, less bulky so it hides better under clothes.
